1999 .Beat

The Swatch .Beat watch is associated with the concept of "Swatch Internet Time," which was a proposed universal time standard introduced by Swatch in 1998.

Concept: Swatch Internet Time divided a 24-hour day into 1,000 equal units called ".beats". Instead of time zones, it used a single universal time based on the Swatch headquarters in Biel, Switzerland, which was designated as the prime meridian for this new system.

Purpose: The idea was to create a global time that was not tied to geographical locations, making it easier for people on the internet to communicate and schedule events without having to convert time zones.
